  We offer video visitation in partnership with Assisting Families of Inmates (AFOI). As a family or friend of an offender, you can meet with your incarcerated loved ones remotely, and reduce the cost of traveling long distances.

  The following conditions are prerequisites to participate in video visitation.

  To participate in video visitation, an offender must be in one of the following facilities that offers these services.

  Participating facilities typically host video visitation on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Hours for video visitation at individual facilities may vary.

  Coffeewood Correctional Center

  Dillwyn Correctional Center

  Deerfield Correctional Center

  Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women

  Powhatan Reception and Classification Center

  Virginia Correctional Center for Women

  Greensville Correctional Center

  Sussex II State Prison

  

  Western Region

  Augusta Correctional Center

  Bland Correctional Center

  Green Rock Correctional Center

  Keen Mountain Correctional Center

  Pocahontas State Correctional Center

  Red Onion State Prison

  River North Correctional Center

  Wallens Ridge State Prison

  The offender also needs to meet certain standards based on their assigned facility’s security level. Use the facility directory to find the security level.

  Once the prerequisites above have been met, the offender or a family member/friend can apply for video visitation. For more information on how an offender can initiate the video visitation application process, please refer to Operating Procedure 851.1.

  Step 1

  As a family member or friend, you are also able to initiate the video visitation application process. To do so, you must first go through the Virginia Department of Corrections’ standard visitation application process.

  Step 2

  As a family member or friend, you will need to mail the completed video visitation application with the fee to the appropriate AFOI video visitation center.

  Video Visitation Fees

  These fees help AFOI defray the costs of providing this program. We do not receive any portion of the proceeds. Find more information on video visitation fees on the AFOI website.

  AFOI visitation centers typically host video visitation on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Hours may vary for individual centers. View the current list of AFOI visitation centers on the organization’s website.

  Step 3

  The video visitation center will verify your information with the facility and schedule the date and time of your video visitation.

  Step 4

  The visitor center will contact you and confirm your video visitation appointment.
